Artist Profile

Dan Baldwin

Dan Baldwin’s work deals with ideas of love, innocence, life and death, politics and symbolism. Often incorporating real objects such as foreign currency, crucifixes and bullets into his work, as well as different types of paint and other materials, he creates a ‘layering’ system that encourages an element of spontaneity and chance into his work, never initially planning how a work will eventually turn out.

Check out an exclusive Eyestorm interview with the artist from June 2009 here.

Although primarily a painter, Baldwin also produces ceramic work and sculpture, and ‘Autumn Girl’ is his first limited edition screenprint.
